The Parish Council plays an important role in examining and commenting on planning applications in the parish. As well as examining all published documentation, councillors will, where feasible, try to make site visits to help them understand the nature of the proposed work.
Our local knowledge is valuable, as is the fact that we are available to listen to views of parishioners. However, while the Parish Council will express their opinions on a planning application, the final decision will be taken by the Dartmoor National Park Authority.
Planning applications are listed on the Dartmoor National Park website (from this link, select “Mary Tavy” from the drop down menu in the “Parish” box, click on the small box near the bottom of the page to accept terms and conditions and then click on the “Start your Search” button) .
While we try to maintain a list of applications for the parish of Mary Tavy, our list (the attachment below) may not be definitive or fully up to date – we recommend you always refer to the DNPA website for the correct status.
